I had an a-ha moment. A CFL bulb going off, if you will. I think I need to get into environmental activism in some way...or maybe eventually some job that will do good in that area. The current situation freaks me out, and it makes sense that the only way to feel a little better about it is to do something.

That article is just damn depressing, if you ask me. So why do so many people not care? I really don't get it. (Chris joked about "buying that summer house in Canada now" - not a terribly bad idea, actually).

I am somewhat optimistic that President Obama will get this show on the road. His environmental plans are here. It remains to be seen whether he can get these changes through congress though. I wrote my congresspeople today. But I feel as if that's only a tiny contribution. I have to figure out what else I can do.
